Create A Registry
1) How do I start creating my registry?
To begin making your registry there are two options. The first involves filling out our online form which is sent to our store. This is followed by one of our gift registry customer service representatives contacting you to come in for a consultation to start the creation process. The second option is to simply walk into one of our Excellent Stores branches and speak to one of our gift registry experts who will help you to create your gift registry right then and there.
2) What types of occasions can gift registries be used for?
With an endless variety of products the Excellent Stores provide gift registries for virtually any celebratory event. This includes weddings, baby showers, birthdays, housewarmings among any other occasion you would like to register for.
3) How many gifts am I allowed to put on my registry?
The Excellent Stores do not have limitations on the minimum or maximum number of gifts you can select to put on your registry. Some things that should be taken into account are: the type of event you are having and the number of guests anticipated. You will also want to provide a range of options with varying price points for different budgets. This means you should have a quantity of gifts on your registry that is far greater than your guest list.
4) When can I begin creating my registry?
You are able to come in to the Excellent Stores to create your registry three months prior to the event. We do not recommend that you wait less than two months before the event to put your registry together to give guests enough time to make purchases.
5) How do I let my friends and family know where I am registered?
Upon completing your registry, the Excellent Stores will provide you with gift registry cards that can be given to your guests. The easiest way to let them know is to send the registry card with their invitation. You can also order more during any point that your registry is active.
6) How much does the gift registry cost?
There is no fee associated with having a gift registry making it completely FREE. Only the items your guests wish to purchase will be charged to them.
7) Can I rank gifts to ensure I receive the ones I want the most?
You are unable to prioritize the items on your registry. You can however, begin with an initial list with your most essential gifts. As your guests purchase the items on this list you are able to add more to give them a selection.
Manage Your Registry
1) How can I make changes to my registry?
Every branch of the Excellent Stores will be given a copy of your gift registry. You will be the only individual permitted to make changes to the registry. You are able to add or delete items on your registry at any time by simply going into an Excellent Stores branch and speaking to one of our customer service representatives.
2) What happens if every item on my list has been bought but there is still time before my event?
Your gift registry is closely monitored so we will notice if all of the items on your list are being purchased or the options are becoming limited. Should this happen, one of our gift registry customer service representatives will contact you. They will give you the opportunity to update your list and select additional items.
3) What happens to items that I choose but are not purchased?
The items on your gift registry are subject to availability. The gifts that you add to your list are not put on hold for your guests to purchase. This means that you are not obligated to pay for any items on your list that are unsold by the time your registry ends.
4) What is the return/exchange policy on a gift registry?
You are able to exchange items you have received from your gift registry for an Excellent Stores credit note. Simply bring in your gift registry item and we will take care of the rest! Excellent Stores does not give refunds for items purchased from the gift registry but you do have the option of deleting items from your list at anytime.
5) How do I obtain the gifts purchased by my guests from the gift registry?
Once your event is over you will make an appointment three days prior to the date you would like to collect your gifts. The individual who created the registry is the only person authorized to pick up the gifts. One of our customer service representatives will check your gifts and document them as received by you. Your registry will remain open for three weeks after your event date so you may want to wait until then to collect all of your gifts at once.
Purchase From A Registry
1) Where can I purchase a gift from a registry?
You do not have to go to the Excellent Stores branch where the gift registry was created to purchase a gift or view the registry. All of our four locations will have a copy of the gift registry and will be selling the items chosen.
2) Is there anything extra included with the gift I purchase?
With your purchase, a complimentary gift card will be attached to your gift. Also, you will have the option to take advantage of our free gift wrapping service.
3) What happens to the gift after I have purchased it?
After you have selected the gift from the registry and submitted payment, your gift will be sent to the Excellent Stores branch where the gift registry was created. The individual who opened the registry will pick up the gifts at a time of their convenience. This process is hassle-free with your only task being to select the gift you wish to purchase!
